FURNISH INTERIOR DESIGN IS BASED IN BEAUTIFUL CHELTENHAM, CAPITAL OF THE COTSWOLDS.

“Hi. I founded Furnish because I think that interior design should be accessible to everyone. We should all be able to live in a space that we love, a place that’s brilliant, original and personal. Creating it should be easy, fun and achievable for all; it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.”

Furnish Interior Design is in the heart of Cheltenham. This gives us great perspective: although we love Regency style, heritage and traditional skills, Furnish is very much a modern company. We have been designing homes (featured in magazines) and commercial spaces for over 4 years and have a reputation for providing creative, bespoke and personal interiors. We have a thorough love of design and a broad field of reference.

We are educated and qualified in design, its history and its associated styles. This enables us to create individual solutions that make our clients happy; this is how we gauge our success. We’ve designed entire homes as well as individual rooms. We’ve designed kitchens, bathrooms and cellar conversions, fun childrens’ bedrooms and lavish sitting rooms. If you don’t want to initiate a complete project, we offer a design only service. Alternatively, you could have a colour and ideas consultation instead.

WE’RE A SMALL TEAM THAT STRIVES TO CREATE THE RIGHT SOLUTION, FOR A SPACE OUR CLIENTS WILL LOVE.

“We’re full of ideas and we love to design, but we’re always aware that the process is a collaboration. We spend as much time with you as we can. By getting to know you we can really understand what you want.”

MEET THE TEAM

Lydia Mattock

Interior Designer

Hi, I’m Lydia! I’ve been working with Dan and team for around 4 months. I’m a designer who loves the more traditional and classic styles. Furnish is a very modern Interior Design company but, I compliment them well, offering a different style. A very keen eye on detail is very important to me and I love to be organised. I really enjoy the chase of sourcing; give me a budget for a sofa and I’ll find you the perfect piece!

Laura Styler

Senior Designer

Hi, I’m Laura. I’ve been working with Furnish for around a year and have a background in high end residential, hotels and show homes across the country. I love meeting clients and getting to know what they like so we can give them a design they love! I enjoy sourcing just the right piece and, project management to ensure our clients receive the design we propose.

Mike Ahern

Interior Designer

Mike is new at Furnish. Mike has a very natural eye for design. He has his favourite styles, but he’s adaptable too. Mike runs a cool blog because he loves interior design so much:

Rob is our newest member. He’s a super-creative product designer with great style and skill. Rob likes to create clever storage solutions and bespoke furniture and lighting. He’s a dab-hand with 3D visuals and renders too!

Daniel Cook

Creative Director

Hello, I’m Dan. I founded Furnish Studios with my wife Rebecca.
I believe that good design and good taste is transferable, across many activities.
There were very few places to study interior design when I was at University, instead I studied Graphic Art and Art History. With hindsight, I think that this has given me a greater range of influence and creative understanding than a purely Interior Design degree could have.
I have worked in the design industry for almost 20 years and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of what is good design and, how to initiate it.
6 years ago I designed and renovated our own property. The house was featured in an interior design magazine and is still complimented today as feeling original, modern and individual. At that time I was Creative Director for a global FMCG company but still had the desire to create interiors.

Rebecca Cook

Director and Creative

Hi, I’m Dan’s wife. Although I say it myself, we’re a great team! My background is in publishing and project management and I have a love of art, design and interiors. I compliment Dans’ style and ideas and particularly like space planning and creating solutions around function. I’ll look after your project and ensure that it’s done on time and budget; and most importantly, that you love the results!

YOU CAN USE FURNISH AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE AS YOU NEED;
IT’S UP TO YOU.

“We enjoy working with people on their projects; whether a complete home re-design, a single room or just a chat about what’s possible. The interior design services below constitute an entire project but, if you would like help with just one of them, we’d like to be a part of it.”

Space Planning

Sometimes our clients just need help to arrange their space. This can be as simple as spending a few hours with you giving you the benefit of our experience. A kitchen for example has to be carefully thought through, and it can be a big, daunting space. We can work with your kitchen designer to make sure you get what you want.

Colour Scheme Development

Colour choice is subjective, we know. Furnish can advise and suggest what works, then visualise some options so you can choose. We all know what colours we like but matching them and ensuring that they work together in a specific room is a skill; one that we can offer you.

Furniture & Fabric Selection

Frankly, once we understand your tastes, this part is relatively easy! It can take time however, and we use a lot of different suppliers both on and off-line. We’re always aware of your budget and tailor our searches accordingly, ensuring you get originality and value where appropriate.

Sourcing Art & Accessories

Over the years we have formed relationships with people that love unusual art, objects and accessories. They let us know when they have something that you might like. We can source items that you won’t have seen before, and are unlikely to see again.

Concepts & Final Design

We always start any project by adding you to a shared Pinterest page. This allows you and us to share visual ideas, inspirations and dreams around what you want your interior to be. Along with lots of conversation, this helps us learn what you like. We’ll then create a mood-board featuring our suggestions and ideas for your project. It would feature visuals, swatches and cuttings to give you a clear understanding of what we’re thinking. After further discussion, we might create 3D renders of specific parts of the project to enable you to really see what the end-result will look like.

Project Management/Handover

We can help bring your project to life. It’s a process that involves sourcing and purchasing all the elements you need for your space. We’ll also liaise with our own or your chosen services, ensuring that everything is done on time and according to designs. We’ll also arrange production and fitting of the bespoke elements that you have chosen. Above all, we’ll be on hand to ensure that you get what you expect. Some clients like to do it themselves which we understand. If that’s the case, we’ll happily give you the designs and a shopping list of what to buy and where. We can help you do it yourself!

IT MIGHT BE A BIT DULL, BUT IT ENSURES WE DELIVER ON TIME AND BUDGET, WHICH OUR CLIENTS VALUE.

“Of course, interior design is a creative activity, but to deliver a complete project we need a design process.
We have to be organised, efficient and aware of budget at all timings. Here’s how we do it:”

We Listen

We listen to our clients. We spend time with you. We ensure that we understand what your space needs to do for you, how it functions and how you live in it.

We Discuss

This is possibly the most important part of the project. After we’ve listened to your thoughts and ideas, we chat creatively about what we could do for you. Together we think about where you sit and where the light comes from. We talk about the styles and colours you like and how much storage you might need both now, and in the future.
At the end of this stage we present a ‘mood board’ to you for further discussion and clarification. It will contain a library of sourced products which will generally include furnishings, fabrics and wallpapers, suggestions around art or ornaments and colour-ways.

We Design

Throughout the design process we will be in regular contact with you. Our experience in commercial design has taught us that the more we share, the better we meet expectations.
Our design process results in 3D visuals that enable you to really see what our ideas are regarding your project. They are editable so we can quickly try different colours and features.

We Manage

This is a vital part of the project and one that we love. It enables us to ensure that our vision becomes a reality in the way we see it and, the way you want it.
We liaise with suppliers and trades. We take delivery of everything needed to make your space and ensure that it’s incorporated as expected. We spend time in your property, overseeing the process to ensure you get what we want.

WE HAVE A STYLE AND THAT’S WHY SOME PEOPLE USE US BUT, WE BELIEVE OUR ROLE IS TO FIND YOUR PASSION, NOT OURS.

“We think it’s hard to pin us down. We love traditional structure. We also love classical styles and fabric but we’re really passionate about modern prints, bold colours and alternative techniques.
When we look for interesting contents for properties, we’re as happy sourcing from the independent, unusual suppliers we know as we are using High Street outlets. For us it’s about mixing together, as long as it works.”
