The Master Bedroom for this project had to be both luxurious and dynamic for our clients. We used COLE AND SON’S Nuvole Fornasetti wallpaper panels for a neutral yet striking backdrop for the Super King bed. The headboard that ties in with the window treatments and bespoke cantilevered bedside drawers are pieces that Furnish designed and made. We took inspiration for the curtains from the tall proportions of this Edwardian property; they utilise the gold mustard headboard fabric and the same grey fabric as used on the Ottoman. The separation between these fabrics sits at the same height as the dado rail and dressing table, creating a seamless plain around the room.
Maximising storage was also a requirement for this room as our clients travel and wanted to create a home from home. We designed the built in wardrobe to ape the proportion and detail of the shutters before generating CAD plans to share with our joiner. Brass poles run across its front as well as the adjoining wall to provide functionality for the ladder, used to reach the upper cupboards. The brass gives warmth and, speaks to the brass hinges and other elements in the room as well as complimenting the teal and dark grey. Faux succulents appear in the design to give a sense of the outdoors and of home but require zero maintenance for our clients who spend a lot of the year in Bermuda.
