Cheltenham Georgian Apartment – Sitting Room Interior Design

We have great pleasure in sharing this project with you.

Our clients based in Bermuda, instructed Furnish to initiate a complete design and source for a beautiful Regency apartment in Cheltenham.

This open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room was a delight for us to work with. With the original Georgian architecture offering high ceilings, hand sculpted coving and working shutters we allowed the original features to shine. Recognising the need for consistency of design throughout the three separate areas our requested a balanced combination of luxury and calm with an injection of edginess and colour. Accent mustard yellows and punches of blues and pinks were chosen carefully to work with the other rooms in the apartment.

A large-scale sculptural pendant by MARTIN HUXFORD floats elegantly over the Saba New York sofa from GO MODERN, grounding the symmetry and proportions of the overall space. A rug by RIVIERE RUGS and artwork by MIRANDA CARTER were also commissioned by Furnish. The calm and softness of the living space deliberately juxtaposes with the monotone, angular dining and kitchen area with its geometric dining table, chairs and floor lamp by TOM FAULKNER whilst subtly drawing on similar visual queues between the three areas.

We shared our concepts via many Skype calls, requiring detailed Scheme Boards and clear communication. After all designs had been signed off, we prepared our Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) document which outlined every item to be purchased for the entire home. This document serves as the basis of communication regarding spend and trade savings, 50% of which we pass back to our clients. We organised all trades for decoration and bespoke furniture as well managing them. Lastly we took delivery of every item to ensure it was perfect, then dressed the entire apartment with styling also sourced and purchased by Furnish.
