This room was part of the total house re-design we completed and was focused in Style at Home magazine.
Continuing our clients love of lamp shades we managed to find an original 1970s UFO lamp in their desired colour. We wanted to create a minimal space in a yellow, white and black colour theme. We introduced the yellow and black through sourced furniture, art and ornaments etc. Our clients were very passionate about music so we sourced the original signed artwork for the clients’ favourite band and found original typographic prints featuring lyrics from songs they like.
In addition to the music and lighting aspect of the brief the client wanted to display their photos taken whilst travelling around the World. There were a lot, so we decided to bring them together to create an abstract pattern which we then had printed on a heavy blind.
The floors were sanded and we had the all the original woodwork from the built-in cupboard and window frame dipped, which added a warm contrast to the modern and minimal style of the remainder of the room.
